'Having been inspired by seeing Tommy Lee's spinning drum solo with Motley Crue in late '89, I always knew I wanted to be a drummer. It wasn't until 1991 however that I first picked up a pair of sticks. I went for my first lesson at the music shop in St Ives and it clicked with me straight away; I'd found an insrument a could play well & enjoy!'
'With some like minded mates. We established ourselves as a covers band (Metallica, Wildhearts, Ozzy etc) going through various band names in the process ('Jolly Roger', 'Strangeways' & 'Crazy Existance' to name but a few...). We finally started to make some headway when we hooked up with a new guitarist, wrote some original tunes in an 80's rock vein, & formed 'Evenseed' (1995 - 1997). We had 3 good years playing various places across East Anglia (such as 'The Boat Race' in Cambridge) & recording 4 E.P's before we split up through 'musical differences' (ha ha!)'.
'I then spent the next 6 years in & out of various covers bands, playing a mix of modern rock & old classics to venues all over East Anglia before I hooked up with Shaun (or Freddie as he's often known) in 'Black Pearl' in mid 2004. We quickly realised we were like minded & wanted to move on from the 'pub standards' we were doing. After a few months off, I sent Shaun a random text message asking if he'd like to form a Queen tribute band. Once he'd come down off of the ceiling from the excitement, we advertised for a guitarist & bass player to form the band. And here we are!'
