'Personally I have to say that being part of this band is like a dream come true! I have been a huge Queen fan pretty much all my life but I never thought I’d get to do anything like this. I’ve been in and out of bands since the age of 14. I started off playing bass in a school band and ended up behind the microphone because no one else had the balls to do it! At college I got into my first serious band called "Double Cross." We played a number of gigs around Yarmouth and Norwich. While I was at university I played in various bands as a bass player but none of them ever really got anywhere – guess we must have been smoking too much!'
'In 2004 I formed "The Black Pearl" with a guitarist from a previous band. Ian joined the band towards the end of the year and blew us away with his energetic (and loud) drumming and enthusiasm. We kept in the band for the early part of 2005 but eventually we both got frustrated with the direction the band was going in. We realized that we both pretty much wanted the same thing from a band so we decided to try and form our own. We wanted to put a band together that would be about fun, about playing a high energy set of quality songs, and where our main priority would be entertaining our audience! We toyed with a couple of ideas over the summer but nothing really fell into place.'
'Completely out of the blue Ian sent me a text one night in September 2005 asking me if I wanted to start a Queen covers band! My reply was simply "Is this a wind up?". Within a week we had ads placed for other musicians and eventually we got together with Matt, Tom and recently Richard joined us. The rest of the story is currently happening...'
